Cleaning

Execute Cleaning to clear clogged nozzles in the Print Head.
After Cleaning is completed, print the nozzle check pattern. You can then view the pattern to check whether the clogged nozzles have been cleared.

Ink will be wasted if you execute Cleaning frequently.

If the print quality does not improve even after you execute Cleaning several times, the ink may have run out.

TOP

Deep Cleaning

Execute Deep Cleaning if the print result does not improve even after you execute Cleaning.
After Deep Cleaning is completed, print the nozzle check pattern. You can then view the pattern to check whether the clogged nozzles have been cleared.

This function is designed to clear tough clogs in the Print Head. This function also consumes more ink than the Cleaning function.

If the print quality does not improve even after you execute Deep Cleaning, the ink may have run out.

TOP

Roller Cleaning

Execute Roller Cleaning if paper dust accumulates around the paper feed roller and causes misfeeds or paper jams.

TOP

Bottom Plate Cleaning

Execute Bottom Plate Cleaning if marks other than the printed characters appear on the paper during printing.

TOP

Nozzle Check

This function prints a nozzle check pattern so that you can check whether the nozzles on the Print Head are clogged.

If the print result is smudged or if there are any unprinted sections, execute Cleaning or Deep Cleaning.
After you execute Cleaning, you should execute Nozzle Check again to check whether the clogged nozzles have been cleared.

Print Head Alignment

This function adjusts the position of the Print Head to fix a problem such as the deviated colors.

If you want to check the current settings before executing Print Head Alignment, click [Print Alignment Value].

Automatic Head Alignment is specified under normal circumstances. However, you can also align the head manually. To change to Manual Head Alignment, click [Custom Settings] on the [Maintenance] tab and check the [Align heads manually] check box.

[Auto Power Off]

You can use this function to turn off the machine automatically when print data is not sent to the machine for the set period of time.

Click [OK] after the configuration to enable the setting in the machine.

If you connect this machine to a network and use it, you can set [Auto Power Off] but the power will not switch off automatically.

Custom Settings

You can switch the operation mode of the machine.

[Prevent paper abrasion]

The machine can increase the gap between the Print Head and the paper during high-density printing to prevent paper abrasion.

[Align heads manually]

The [Print Head Alignment] function on the [Maintenance] tab is normally set to Automatic Print Head Alignment, however, you can change it to the Manual Print Head Alignment.

[Ink Drying Wait Time]

You can specify the ink drying wait time.
If the next page is printed before the ink on the previous page dries, the back of the next page becomes stained. You can change the time to prevent this from happening.

After specifying the setting, click [OK] to change the setting in the machine. To release the setting, click [Defaults] and then click [OK].

The custom settings are saved even after the machine is turned off.
However, the setting for [Align heads manually] is not saved to the machine. Therefore the setting returns to its default value the next time the Driver UI is started.

If you do not click [OK], the checked items or the released settings will not take effect.
